In our previous post we took you along to Paris, hop on we are taking the train from Paris to Cannes!

It is pretty easy to travel in Europe by train, the ride from Paris to Cannes is 5 hours.

Cannes is a beautiful city and the weather is wonderful all year long.

Where to stay?

If you are visiting in the winter I would suggest staying near ''The Croisette'' that way everything is walking distance.

In the summer you could rent a car and stay a little farther from the center of Cannes as it gets very crowded.

What to do?

Beach, markets, shopping, tennis, boat, playgrouds, restaurants, museums there is a lot to do and a lot to see. Going to St-Tropez by boat or by car in the summer is a must. Nice, Monaco, Èze, Valbonne, St-Paul de Vence etc.. there is so much to see!

Highlights:

This is a convenient trip to do with kids, I personally find restaurants and places more ''kids friendly'' in France. The relationship kids/adults is very different and kids go everywhere.

From Cannes you can drive about 2 hours and ski in Isola 2000 a great gateway with sunny mountains, ski in ski out.

The South of France is full of charming places to visit with picturesque scenes. The food is really good and farmers markets are outstanding!

What to eat?

Obviously bread, cheese but also olive oil, olives. Cannes is very close to Italy and the cuisine has a lot of Italian and Mediterranean inspirations.

A very popular cake is ''La Tarte Tropezienne'' a sort of brioche cake filled with a mix of two creams and topped with butter pearl sugar.

Later in the day try a ''Pastis'' an anise-flavoured spirit typically containing less than 100 g/L sugar and 40–45% ABV (alcohol by volume).

Finally all the fruits and vegetables, depending on the time of the year your are visiting. The list is very long!
